Mantoverde Mine prioritizes engagement with local communities through job creation, skills development, economic contributions, and active stakeholder engagement. Of its 1,201 employees, 528 (44%) are from the Atacama region, and one of its 14 senior managers is also from the local area. Despite geographic constraints due to its remote location, the mine provides employment opportunities through on-site accommodations.
For skills development, the mine supports training initiatives, including the “Learning for Development” program, with 350 participants completing courses totaling 1,078 hours of vocational training across different trades. Participants included residents of Flamenco, businesswomen from Chañaral and members of the Portofino Fishermen’s Union.
